The dragon represents beneficent, celestial power and supernatural wisdom and strength.  As one of the most powerful symbolic animals, dragons are also considered the guardians of hidden knowledge.

Often represented with the life giving element of water, the dragon also represents the divine power of change and transformation.  This creature is considered to be the chief of all scaly reptiles, and along with the power of transformation, also possesses the gift of rendering itself visible or invisible and has the ability to become as small as a silkworm or as large as heaven and earth.

The dragon buries itself in the watery depths (fall) and ascends to the sky (spring) thus also becoming a symbol for the renewal of nature and changing of seasons.  Dragons often hold the flaming pearl – the pearl which grants the gifts of wisdom, enlightenment and the spiritual essence of the universe.
