Introduction to Tri-County Archery Association

TCAA is currently comprised of 3 clubs Cape May County Archery Association, Buckshorn Sportmen’s Club, and Obbissquasoit Bowman. These clubs participate in year round tournaments. Shooting schedules can be picked up at any club or found on line. Cape May holds there shoots the first Sunday of ever month. Registration is between 8:00 and 10:00 am (casual start). The Range consists of 28 lanes scattered throughout the woods. The range is similar to a golf course with shooting positions and targets along the way. The targets vary in size, from rabbits and raccoons to deer and bears, depending on the distance (randomly MARKED yardages from 10 to 60 yards). The targets are animal prints on cardboard with a fluorescent- orange aiming spot. The scoring area has a big 5-point center (vital hit) and a 3-point outer scoring area (wound hit). The archer shoots four arrows at each of the 28 targets for a possible 560 score. Youths, age 13 to 15 shoot a maximum of 50 yards and children age 12 and under shoot a maximum of 30 yards. To shoot a TCAA round you must purchase a TCAA card good for 1 year, sold at all the clubs, and then only pay for the shoots you play in . Any of these clubs will be more then willing to help first timers. This is a great way to start archery with the family, bring your equipment and take a stroll through the woods, try a TCAA shoot.
